Admin guide

This guide is for the person who installed Desorix: the platform administrator. Platform admins see an Administration item in the sidebar.

Creating the first administrator

The web installer creates it (Installing on cPanel). On a server with a terminal you can also run:

bash
php artisan desorix:admin you@example.com --name="Your Name"

Run the same command with an existing user's email to promote that user.

Administration pages

Overview

Counts of workspaces, users and background jobs, plus two health lights: whether the cron job is running and whether the server requirements are met.

Workspaces

Every workspace on the installation, with its owner and member count. Search by name or slug.

Users

Every user account. Make admin / Remove admin grants or revokes platform-admin access. You cannot remove your own admin access, so there is always at least one admin.

Settings

SettingWhat it does
Application nameShown in the browser tab and emails.
Default languageUsed for visitors and for users who haven't picked a language.
Support emailShown to users when they need help (used in later releases).
Allow public registrationWhen off, only people with a workspace invitation can create an account. Turn it off if you run Desorix for one business.
Graph API versionThe Meta Graph API version used for WhatsApp calls. Change it only when release notes say a newer version is supported.
Inbox polling intervalHow often the inbox checks for new messages when websockets aren't available (the normal case on shared hosting). Lower is faster but uses more server resources.
Update server URLWhere Desorix checks for updates and purchase codes. Leave it empty unless support tells you otherwise (also on the Updates page).

System

  • Scheduler (cron): shows when the cron job last ran and the exact cron line to add in cPanel.
  • Queue: the number of waiting, running and failed background jobs, how long the oldest has waited (amber after 3 minutes), and what is waiting, by job type.
  • Server requirements: PHP version, extensions, functions and writable folders.
  • Update backups: space used by the updater in storage/app/updates (the backups of the last two updates).
  • Environment: versions, and which mail, cache and broadcast drivers are active.

Modules

Modules add features such as store integrations. WooCommerce ships with Desorix and is enabled on install.

  • Disable: hides the module's pages and sidebar entries. Its data is kept.
  • Enable: turns it on again, applying its database changes.
  • Delete data: removes the module's tables and settings for good. You must type the module name to confirm. Modules that ship with Desorix keep their files, so they can be enabled again later.

New add-on modules are installed under Updates → Update from a zip → Install a new module. See Integrations for WooCommerce.

Updates

Shows the installed version, the result of the last check (the nightly check or Check now), with the changelog, and the history of updates with rollback. See Updating Desorix.

License

Your purchase code turns on one-click updates. Nothing else depends on it: Desorix works fully without a code, when a code is invalid, and when the license server is unreachable.

  • One code covers one live domain. Test and staging domains (localhost, *.test, *.local, and staging., dev. or test. subdomains) don't count.
  • Moving to a new domain: click Deactivate on the old installation first, then activate the code on the new one. If the old installation is gone, contact support to free the code.
  • Support expiry: updates keep working after your CodeCanyon support period ends; only support needs renewing.
  • What is sent: the purchase code, this domain, a random installation ID, and the Desorix, PHP and database versions. Nothing about your workspaces, contacts or messages.

If the scheduler shows Not running, see Troubleshooting.

Pricing

The rate table Desorix uses to estimate and record what each WhatsApp message costs. Meta bills each WhatsApp Business Account directly; Desorix only keeps track.

  • Desorix ships Meta's published USD rate cards (effective 1 July 2026 and 1 October 2026) and the list of which country belongs to which Meta market. They are loaded automatically on install.
  • Settings: the currency costs are recorded in, and the number of free service messages per number per month (Meta reports 1,000 from 1 October 2026; this only affects estimates).
  • Click a rate to change it, add a rate for a new date (the newest rate on or before a message's date is used), or Import from CSV (market,category,rate,currency,effective_from, or country, market for the country list).
  • Restore default rates re-imports the rate card bundled with your Desorix version.
  • A message's final cost always follows Meta: when Meta's delivery webhook says the message is not billable, its cost is 0.

Your installation serves a Privacy Policy at /privacy and Terms of Service at /terms. Meta asks for both URLs before your app can be switched to Live, and fetches them, so they must load without logging in. Edit them here in Markdown. Placeholders such as {app_name} and {support_email} are filled in automatically. Reset to default returns to the built-in text. For Meta's "User data deletion" field use https://your-domain/privacy#data-deletion.

The built-in texts are generic templates, not legal advice. Have them reviewed for your business.

Workspaces and roles

Every user gets their own workspace on sign-up and can create more. Inside a workspace:

RoleCan
OwnerEverything, including deleting the workspace and billing.
AdminEverything except deleting the workspace and billing. Manages agents and viewers.
AgentHandles conversations and contacts. Sees templates and broadcast results read-only.
ViewerRead-only access to conversations, templates, broadcasts and reports.

Admins can only change or remove members ranked below them.

Automation and chatbot flows

  • Chatbot flows need the scheduler: desorix:run-flows (every minute) continues waits and question timeouts, and desorix:prune-flow-logs (daily) deletes step logs older than 30 days.
  • Webhook steps in flows can only call public internet addresses. To allow addresses on your own network (for example an internal CRM), set DESORIX_ALLOW_PRIVATE_WEBHOOKS=true in .env and run php artisan config:clear.
  • Workspace owners and admins manage flows and rules; see Automation and chatbot flows.

AI

Administration → AI:

  • Platform AI keys: Anthropic and OpenAI keys used by workspaces without their own key. You pay the provider for that usage; plan credits for resale come with plans in a later release.
  • Default models: per feature and provider. Auto-reply defaults to claude-haiku-4-5 (fast and low-cost, since it runs on every unanswered message) and drafts to claude-sonnet-5. There is also the embedding model and its dimension count (512 by default). Changing either of those means workspaces must re-index their documents.
  • AI prices: USD per million tokens; every call is costed from this table. Update it when providers change prices, or use Restore bundled prices.

Administration → Pricing has two more settings:

  • Billing month time zone: which calendar month Meta's free service-message allowance is counted in. UTC until Meta documents otherwise.
  • Value of 1 USD in this currency: needed only when the pricing currency isn't USD, so that AI (USD) and WhatsApp costs can be added. The results are shown as approximate.

Scheduled tasks added in this release: desorix:check-cost-alerts (hourly). Documents are indexed by the queue (IndexKnowledgeDocument), which on cron-only hosting runs within a minute. For local or demo installs without keys, DESORIX_AI_FAKE=true answers AI calls with a built-in fake.
