Installing on cPanel

Everything happens in your browser: cPanel for the hosting side, then the Desorix installer. You don't need a terminal. Allow about 15 minutes.

Before you start, have ready:

  • the release zip from CodeCanyon (desorix-x.y.z.zip, inside the package you download);
  • a domain or subdomain, for example chat.example.com, with HTTPS (cPanel's AutoSSL is enough);
  • your purchase code (optional; it turns on one-click updates).

1. Create the database

  1. Open cPanel → MySQL® Databases.
  2. Under Create New Database, enter a name such as desorix. cPanel adds your account prefix, giving for example account_desorix.
  3. Under Add New User, create a user with a strong password. Write the password down.
  4. Under Add User To Database, pick the user and the database, click Add, tick ALL PRIVILEGES, and click Make Changes.

The database must be empty. The installer refuses a database that already holds Desorix tables, and never deletes anything.

2. Choose PHP 8.3

Open cPanel → Select PHP Version (on some hosts it's MultiPHP Manager) and choose 8.3 or newer. On the Extensions tab, make sure these are ticked: pdo_mysql, mysqli, mbstring, fileinfo, openssl, xml, dom, curl, zip, bcmath, intl, gd, exif, sodium.

In MultiPHP INI Editor, these values are recommended:

SettingValueWhy
memory_limit256MImports, AI documents
upload_max_filesize and post_max_size64MMedia, and uploading update zips
max_execution_time60Longer requests (every long task is split, so 30 also works)

3. Upload and extract

  1. Open cPanel → File Manager and go to your home folder (/home/account, not public_html).
  2. Click Upload and upload desorix-x.y.z.zip.
  3. Select the zip and click Extract. This creates a desorix folder. Its folders are already set to 755, so the web server can read them; don't make them more private.

4. Point the domain at desorix/public

  • Subdomain or addon domain (recommended): cPanel → Domains → Create A New Domain, or Manage an existing one. Set the Document Root to desorix/public.

  • If you can't change the document root (for example your main domain must use public_html), put the files straight into public_html:

    1. Extract the zip in public_html.
    2. Open the new desorix folder, Select All (File Manager's settings must show hidden files, so .htaccess and .env.example are included), and Move everything to public_html.

    The release's own .htaccess then serves everything from public/, so .env and the source code can't be downloaded. Installing in a sub-folder of a domain (example.com/chat) is not supported. Pointing the document root at public/ is still the better setup.

Turn on HTTPS: cPanel → SSL/TLS Status → Run AutoSSL. Meta only sends webhooks to https:// addresses.

5. Run the installer

Open your domain in a browser. Every page sends you to the installer until it has finished.

  1. Requirements: every line should say OK. A Missing line says what to fix, usually a PHP extension (step 2) or folder permissions (set folders to 755 in File Manager). Click Check again.
  2. Database: enter the host (usually localhost), the port (3306) and the database, user and password from step 1. Desorix tests the connection. If anything is wrong it says what: a wrong password, a user not added to the database, MySQL too old, or a database that isn't empty.
  3. Application:
    • The app name. It's shown in page titles and emails.
    • The address, detected for you; keep https://.
    • Your time zone.
    • Optionally, SMTP email: your cPanel mailbox works, for example mail.example.com, port 465, SSL. You can skip email and add it later in .env.
  4. Administrator: your name, email and a strong password (12+ characters with upper and lower case, a number and a symbol). This account manages the whole platform and owns the first workspace.
  5. Purchase code: paste it, or click Skip, add it later. Without it, everything works except one-click updates.
  6. Install: the page moves on by itself: configuration file, database tables (in batches, with a count), price tables and your account, then finishing. If a step fails, the page shows why and a Try again button. Nothing is lost.

If you close the browser while it installs, open the domain again and fill in the same database details. The installer continues where it stopped.

6. Add the cron job

The last page shows the command for your server. In cPanel → Cron Jobs:

  1. Under Common Settings, choose Once Per Minute (* * * * *).

  2. Paste the command, for example:

    bash
    cd /home/account/desorix && /usr/local/bin/php artisan schedule:run >> /dev/null 2>&1
  3. Click Add New Cron Job.

If your cron PHP isn't 8.3, use the full path to PHP 8.3, for example /opt/alt/php83/usr/bin/php.

About two minutes later, Administration → System should say the scheduler is running. It sends broadcasts, runs chatbot flows, processes queued work and checks for updates.

7. Sign in

Sign in with the administrator account. Next steps:

  • Connect WhatsApp
  • Invite your team (Team in the sidebar)
  • Add your purchase code later under Administration → License, if you skipped it

Back up .env

Download desorix/.env with File Manager and keep it safe. Its APP_KEY encrypts the stored WhatsApp tokens and AI keys, and a new key can't read them. Updates never change .env.
